JOB PURPOSE

 

To build, engage and sustain targeted audiences for assigned events- fulfilling attendee demographic balance and boosting overall attendance numbers; thus supporting sales/revenue goals.

 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Develop and implement a tailored audience development strategy for each assigned conference, leveraging all platforms and touchpoints while conducting outreach - ensuring a consistent, effective and targeted message is delivered in line with the relevant market
  • Personally conduct lead research through a variety of channels, to grow lead databases and audiences across a range of events and portfolios
  • Identify, foster and maintain personal relationships with target clients and be the main point of contact for executives from target firms, ensuring to intermittently touch base, securing continued support and repeat attendance
  • Manage databases and utilise the in-house CRM system to optimise demographic profiling and data insight requirements, while ensuring data is kept up-to-date and accurate in the CRM system and all other records on file
  • Travel to events as required (globally, but primarily domestically); manage onsite elements from registration to roundtable sessions, facilitating networking and support the onsite team delivering a superior experience for all attendees; using the in-person events to solidify relationships and encourage repeat attendance
  • Work cohesively on a daily basis with colleagues in production, sales, marketing and operations to effectively leverage conference registrants to drive overall conference success

 

KEY INTERFACES


EXTERNAL

  • Interact daily via email and phone (primarily email) with conference attendee leads, typically C-level execs and other VIPs, to invite them to specific events and engage them with IMN more broadly
  • Work with sponsors to ensure their clients are suitably represented at the event
  • Communicate with all complimentary conference attendees to ensure they are ‘engaged’ and still plan to attend each event
  • Engage professional organizations and associations to invite their members to attend conferences, usually by communicating with their leadership to arrange agreements.

INTERNAL

  • Liaise with Production team and other senior members of IMN staff to coordinate speaker and audience acquisition plan for each event, and communicate progress on a daily basis as the event approaches
  • Work closely with sales team to coordinate sales and audience acquisition process on a daily basis, ensuring AD and Sales are working in lockstep
  • Liaise at least weekly with appropriate marketing team member to ensure each team has appropriate information to leverage and promote the conference
  • Liaise as required with operations team member for each event: sending information out for our contracted discount block of hotel rooms, discuss anticipated audience numbers and room set-up needed for small group or VIP sessions
  • Meet with Manager every weekly to share overall progress, approach, and future plan for each event
  • Attend Project Team Meetings, having prepared an update on campaign progress including number of attendees versus target and detailed feedback from target market on the product

 

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Demonstrable experience gained within an investor relations or audience development environment
  • Good working knowledge of financial/professional services and related markets, with the ability to be sufficiently conversant in subject matter
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills; able to interpret data from multiple sources and convey insights in a clear and engaging way to help drive business decisions
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to quickly identify and evaluate emerging trends
  • Has strong verbal and written communication skills; can engage different audiences and has a track record of developing and maintaining strong relationships with senior-level executives
  • Able to collaborate positively at all levels across the business with colleagues
  • Has a methodical approach to work, with a strong focus on accuracy and producing high-quality information
  • Able to work to agreed deadlines and targets and can adapt to differing demands and prioritise, as necessary
  • Can work independently on assigned tasks and initiatives, demonstrating initiative and the ability to be proactive
  • Able to make decisions and remains calm while under pressure, particularly when dealing with difficult situations

 

The annual salary range for this position is $60,000 to $74,000. The actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education and skill levels. Our total compensation packages may also include competitive annual bonuses, commissions, or quarterly MBOs, dependent on the role. These will be discussed with you during the interview process.  The salary range represents Delinian’s good faith belief of the current market-value for the role at the time of this posting and is provided in support of New York’s Salary Transparency initiative.
